Phlegethon was a band from Finland that was created by Lasse Pyykko (hooded menace, claws, vacant coffin, the skeletal, shrouded, swarming, acid witch, etc.). They released a lot of demo material and an ep. This is a compilation of all their material put onto 2 discs in 2010. The 1st disc's production isn't so great, but the 2nd one is alright and sounds great. Phlegethon played Doomed Out Thrashy Death Metal, which is basically the Lasse Pyykko sound in general. Enjoy!

Thrall

Hobart, Tasmania located in Australia (for you dummies that don't know) is the one of the last places I'd think of when it comes to Black Metal. However, Thrall are in fact just that. Thrall play a mix of Old School Black Metal, Doom, Thrash, and Punk. There is definitely a lot more to them than just those descriptions. Thrall are definitely doing their own thing to create a very transitional style of music on an album that's over an hour long. So Circle of Dead Children can't make it to Maryland Death Fest this year due to their drummer not being able to make it. So they've been replaced by Crucifist! They're from Rochester, New York and play a mix of thrashy-old school-blackened-metal with some of the coolest vocals I've heard in a while. I feel like the crypt keeper or some zombie ghost is doing the vocals. Very different stuff here that will appease fans of thrash and old school death metal and black metal.
