In celebration of our 100th Post! I have decided to post a band I've kept in my back pocket for about a year now. I was and sorta still am into a lot of the bands that Hydra Head puts out, like Isis, Big Business, Torche, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Old Man Gloom, etc. I noticed they host a few bands that are obscure black metal or noise or avant-garde or drone, I'm usually not a big fan. However, Bergraven caught my attention back when they were releasing "Till Makabert Väsen" and I decided to check out their 2 previous albums, "Fördärv" and "Dödsvisioner". I came to find that this band is fucking awesome, especially if you like Oranssi Pazuzu, and Den Saakaldte. Bergraven is a one man project from Sweden and play as you might have guessed, Avant-Garde Experimental Black Metal. So expect the unexpected from this band. Hobart, Tasmania located in Australia (for you dummies that don't know) is the one of the last places I'd think of when it comes to Black Metal. However, Thrall are in fact just that. Thrall play a mix of Old School Black Metal, Doom, Thrash, and Punk. There is definitely a lot more to them than just those descriptions. Thrall are definitely doing their own thing to create a very transitional style of music on an album that's over an hour long.
