3 Is The Magic Number

As a result of being lazy, here's 3 albums from 3 different bands performing at this year's Maryland Death Fest. The Chasm, Eyehategod, and Gride. Let's make this fast... The Chasm are from Mexico City and play what I would call br00tal progressive death metal. Eyehategod are from New Orleans and play a heavy version of doom. Some might call it sludge, but the singer and band don't really care for that term and with a band named Eyehategod, you better just take their word for it. Gride are from the Czech Republic and play grind in the vein of blast beat absurdness... plus the Czech vocals add to the greatness. Also, no song titles on these records, you'll see them when you download them. I don't feel like doing all the weird symbols and apostrophes and shit for the Gride song titles. However, I do suggest you download all 3 albums and do your ears a favor. Enjoy!

Maryland Death Fest 2010: Running Order

So www.marylanddeathfest.com posted the running order of this year's MDF 2010. This lets you know what bang is play what stage at what time. However, they sorter theirs by stage... I on the other-hand for my printed enjoyment the day of fest, made my own schedule based on time. I also put an abbreviation for where they were playing at. Please check the key below. So here's another band playing at Maryland Death Fest 2010... however, this band has many attendee's scratching their head. Jucifer at a death fest? It's true this band doesn't play death, black, grind, or thrash metal... however, they play the loudest sludge doom you ever heard. It may be typical fashion to say "no clit in the pit", but this chick (amber valentine) can sing her ass off and not only that she plays using 9 cabinet amps (or more) and blows the clothes off of people like an 80's rock video. Her and husband Edgar Livengood tour nomad style constantly and drop albums every few years. Their last album, "L' Autrichienne" was a concept album about Marie Antoinette. It's tracks all differed in style and range from heavy and fast to slow and deep and everything in between. So we decided to throw said album up on the Poonangular blog. So check out this different, yet awesome album that definitely shows that you can't judge a book by its cover. Not only that, but Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer/Agoraphobic Nosebleed fame did production on the album, so you know it's loud. Basically if you like Black Sabbath, The Melvins, or PJ Harvey, then you'll enjoy this record. Play this at extreme volumes!
