Edifice

Al-Thawra hail from Chicago, IL and play a twist of Crust Punk with plenty of Hardcore, Doom, Sludge and Middle Eastern  influences. The only thing I can say about this band is that they are definitely a breath of fresh air in this genre that is mainly thought of as untalented, or lo-fi by most. This band has taken elements of all the above-mentioned genres and created something truly unique. Crushing drums create a heaviness that compliments the guitars and angered barking vocals. There's a huge Middle Eastern vibe being used at various parts of the albums and you will definitely get a vibe and almost groove from it to then only have your brains bashed in by crushing Sludge and Doom riff. Fuck! I think I've rode this album's dick hard enough, enjoy!

Thrall

Hobart, Tasmania located in Australia (for you dummies that don't know) is the one of the last places I'd think of when it comes to Black Metal. However, Thrall are in fact just that. Thrall play a mix of Old School Black Metal, Doom, Thrash, and Punk. There is definitely a lot more to them than just those descriptions. Thrall are definitely doing their own thing to create a very transitional style of music on an album that's over an hour long. So if you're into this new era of Black Metal that is surging as of late, you'll definitely enjoy this Tasmanian band. Enjoy!

Wolvhammer hail from Minneapolis, Minnesota and play Hardcore Blackened Doomy Sludge Crust Post Punk Metal (description given by drummer of band), don'tcha know? This is some bleak and heavy headbanging metal right here! Definitely for anyone who likes toe-tappin', head banging metal, but like theirs extra blackened and crusty. Political Hardcore Punk Metal!?!?

It seems that I'm posting some old favorites here lately (that pg.99 post). This is another awesome band from Virginia. They play a hardcore punk metal mix that's just great. For a three piece this band is incredibly loud and luckily I was able to catch them live back in '03 before they split up (I think they're split up). Anyways, if you like Pg.99, you'll love these guys even though this band is a little more instrumental at times. Enjoy.
